The End of Love: Yes, I Am at It Again Today!

Yes, here I am at the blog again today. Kellie is still working her magic marking up the proof copy of Moe Stanley Is Dead? so I have no writing to do as far as fiction. Therefore I am revising and revising and revising poems. Yes, that is a lot of revising. The following sonnet took me most of yesterday and this morning, and I still don't love it. I love the picture that Copilot created for me to set the mood of the poem. It is funny that, in my mind, the man in the poem was leaving, but Copilot, using the poem as its context, decided to show the woman walking away. Anyway, the poem after this one is fairly short as well. I will probably work on it this afternoon.
As always, ENJOY!
The End of Love
(A Just Song)
Just stop! We should not quarrel anymore.
Please stay if you wish, but I will move on.
We both may love just the same as before,
But you will be here, and I will be gone.
Just admit we were lulled by Love’s fragrance,
A soothing scent that set our thoughts aswoon,
But the stench of discord gives us no chance
To settle our rank differences real soon.
I do not argue, but why did we think
That our hearts could float side by side
When each crashing wave caused passion to sink
And to be swept away in the ebb tide?
Our lust may help sustain us when we drown.
I just don’t need you near when I go down.
